Add New Student / View / Update Student
When adding new students, updating students, or viewing students, a common dialog is display, slightly modified, for each task. Below is what you will see when Updating a student. The descriptions, however, account for each possibility.
1. Student Information
This is where you can enter and modify all student information.
Special note: During the first use, the drop down lists will be empty. However, you are able to type in the drop down box, and your input will be saved. Next time you open the dialog, the drop down lists (state, country) will be populated with any information that you have entered previously!
The Gradeway.com name must be entered in order for the student to view their grades, reports, and online class message board!
2. Parent Information
This section acts the same as the Student information, but is for the Parent.
The Gradeway.com name for the parent allows for up to 2 users (student and parent) to view the reports and grades for a single student.
3. Cancel
This closes the window without saving any changes.
4. Delete Student*
This deletes the student you are currently viewing.
* This button is only available when you are Viewing/Updating a student. This will not appear when you are adding new students!
5. Select Class / Select Student*
When viewing/updating a student, this allows you to select the class the student is in, and then the student to be displayed.
When adding a new student, only the Select Class option is shown - this is the class that the student will be saved into.
* Select Student option only available when viewing/updating student.
6. Update Student*
This saves any changes you have made to the student and/or parent information for a particular student.
* If you are adding a new student, the button will display "Save Student" rather than "Update Student." Clicking the button will save the new student to the selected class.
