Gradeway Teacher's Suite Help

Gradeway Gradebook

Below is a sample of Gradeway Teacher's Suite Gradebook. (Note: Your classes may differ from what is listed.) Beneath the screen image are explanations for each area.

1. Add New Assignment
This brings up the Add New Assignment dialog, which allows you to add assignments to the current class or any class you may have.

2. Add New Student
Clicking this will display the Add New Student dialog, allowing you to create and add Student and Parents and "enroll" them in any class you may have.

3. Gradebook
The Gradeway Gradebook displays the student's first name, last name, overall grade (or possibly grades by subject, depending on grading mode), each assignment, and the grade that the student has earned on the assignment.

Any assignment enclosed in square brackets( []'s ) are generally created by Gradeway, and are not editable, such as "[overall grade]." Because of this, we recommend that you do not name assignments that have brackets in their names.

Grades should be entered as follows:

Points Earned / Points Possible

Examples:
Valid Grades: 15/20; 37.25/50; 50/0; 0/10; 7.25/10.75; etc.

Invalid Grades:
10 (does not contain ratio of points earned/points possible)
12/ (is missing points possible)
/30 (is missing points earned)
/ (is missing points earned and points possible)
Any character other than: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 . /

Special Grade Marks:
No grade entered (a blank grade) is not calculated into any scores, and is treated like a missing assignment. A blank grade has no impact on the overall grade, positive or negative.

0/100 (or other 0 points earned out of possible points) is calculated as receiving 0% on the assignment. This is an actual grade, and therefore, not treated like a missing assignment.

25/0 (or any number of points out of 0 possible points) is treated as extra credit. If all assignments are out of 0 possible points, you may receive ambiguous results for grades, as the overall grade will be infinity.
